About Us

Nestled in the tranquil countryside of Lancaster County, conducive to healing and growth and home to the Amish, you will find The Gate House programs. The Gate House programs are non profit community based treatment programs that have been providing quality addiction treatment in a home like environment for over thirty- five years.

The Gate House has been providing comprehensive care to women and men recovering from addiction by making available the most progressive treatment to address the context of addiction and empower individual recovery.

The residential programs, known as The Gate House for Men and The Gate House for Women, provide structured living and on-going treatment for adult men and women recovering from chemical dependency. Many people find that after they have completed an inpatient drug detox or treatment program, they need a more supportive alternative. The Gate House programs provide a safe place for people who need a little more time in a drug-free environment away from old people, places, and temptation where they can continue to stabilize before moving on. The length of stay varies. Both programs are licensed by the PA Dept. of Health and are recognized by the PA Client Placement Criteria at level 2B.

The Transitional Housing / Recovery House program provide a safe supportive living environment conducive to emotional and spiritual needs of an individual new to recovery.

All of The Gate House programs provides the client with quality, reality-oriented professional counseling services and basic life skills training so that they may fully develop. The treatment is based on the philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, and principles of a holistic approach to recovery.

The location in the south central part of Pennsylvania provides easy access and borders Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland. We are located 90 minutes from Philadelphia and Baltimore. Both facilities are easily accessible from the PA Turnpike, Route 501 and Route 30.
