Gate House for Women
Research now shows that gender-specific recovery programs are especially important in the treatment of women who suffer from substance dependency. Women substance abusers have very different issues than men including greater rates of depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies as well as exposure to trauma and domestic violence. The Gate House for Women accepts and treats women who have a dual diagnosis of substance dependency and a mental health diagnosis. The Gate House for Women provides a safe environment where women can address their substances dependency without the shame and stigma frequently found in co-ed environments.
