Phases

Transitioning back into the community is difficult. The Gate House treatment program helps clients through a three-phase program.

Phases

Transitioning back into the community is difficult. The Gate House residential treatment programs help clients through a three phase process......

Phase I

During Phase I the client becomes acclimated with the guidelines and routines of The Gate House. The Gate Houses use the support of community providers to help meet employment and education needs. Structured into daily programming are task groups, lectures, individual and peer group counseling sessions, recreational activities, health and nutrition education, life skills, and spirituality lectures. The clients establish a relationship with their counselor and develop treatment goals to address underlying barriers to recovery and ineffective behavior patterns that lead to negative consequences. Additionally, the clients begin to form connections with the recovering community and work toward obtaining a sponsor.

Phase II
Progress to Phase II happens when the treatment team and the client agree that a foundation has been established within the program. The client utilizes community resources to obtain employment or volunteer work. The client will practice their new-found recovery life skills during constructive weekend activities. The client will develop an understanding of her own personal values, morals and beliefs. The client will have identified and begun participation in a home group.

Phase III
The client will develop and practice implementing a plan for self-sufficient, sober living within the community. The client will secure housing conducive to recovery. The client will develop a plan for relapse prevention. The client will establish and strengthen support networks.
