Phases
Transitioning back into the community is difficult. The Gate House treatment program helps clients through a three-phase program.
Each graduate of The Gate House will have obtained the awareness and tools necessary to maintain recovery. They will become aware of how to be a productive member of the community as a result of acquiring a clear understanding of their personal growth, spirit, and principles.
Program Components
- With a professional counselor, develop an individualized treatment plan.
- Participate in individual, group and family counseling with certified professionals.
- Obtain a full-time job within 45 days. Vocational counseling and employment readiness are available for those eligible to work. Volunteer experience is made accessible for those who cannot work.
- Mandatory daily attendance of 12 Step meetings that provides assistance with integration into 12 Step meetings and with obtaining a sponsor.
- Participate in life skills education classes including budgeting, parenting, interpersonal communications, nutritional meal planning and preparation, health and wellness, building healthy relationships, Self esteem workshops, and conflict resolution
- Consultations with other professionals are made readily available. Examples of this are; psychiatric services and spiritual counseling.
- Provide Veteran’s with resources for PTSD and related issues
- Planned recreational activities are provided for leisure and enjoyment
- Responsibility is learned through self-ran peer groups and community meetings.
- Complete exit-planning including: Relapse prevention and Continuing Care programs.
- Post graduation support is offered through transitional programs that provide affordable safe housing, weekly group sessions, and an active alumni association.
